This quote screamed at me, saying all I know to be true in just a few short words. Some people rut dwell without knowing, others know and care not that they follow the feet directly ahead, going nowhere at a pace set to keep them half asleep and manageable.
I know and rebel at perfectly pacing myself to anyone else's footprints. Walking beside someone or letting them lead through unfamiliar territory is necessary at times, but to make it a habit to always be a follower in all things makes a person little more than a robot. Our promise and gifts are never truly realized when we live in the constant shadow of others.
