External Distress / Click To Donate

TODAY'S QUOTE:
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (121-180)

The fault is not only in over-estimating external pain, but also in under-estimating our own power over all things external, and most things internal. We sell ourselves much too short, if we bother selling ourselves at all, accepting the easiest we can get as being good enough to get us by.
If life was meant for getting through, it would all be a powerful waste of God's time, but too often we give just enough effort to just get by on. What a colossal waste of our time, as well, no matter how I twist and turn it in my mind. Success comes from attempting something more than just breathing in and out, until all your time here is used up.
You hold all the power of three square feet, inside this sacred space you are truly king or queen. Your kingdom may seem tiny, but it is just as vast as you care to make it. I have a very small orbit in actual miles traveled, yet my touch is accessible earth wide. My three feet touch you as you read, or they should, or all my time and effort are meaningless. Your three feet have whatever reach you care to invest in them. And what better investment can a person make, for pity sake?
You control how you react, and how others react to you; aware of it or not, you possess the power to influence the weather inside your own environment. Rage and build a mighty storm. Cry a river to float upon. Grieve up a total eclipse. Smile some sunbeams. Laugh a merry brook. Love a rosy glow upon your landscape. The choice is yours alone. Care enough to make it.

THINK ABOUT IT
LET IT GROW
THEN DECIDE
